I felt compelled to write this because of some racist tweets I read this evening. It would be nice if they read this, but reading is most likely, not their forte.
There is a problem with racism rearing its ugly head in America, most especially in the right wing. This can be easily proved by anyone in a very short period of time. If you are a Republican, you would want to find this out for yourself. If you don’t want to be called such an ugly word, you would not want to be affiliated with racism. You would research this for yourself to disprove it. After hearing Republicans say they are tired of being called, “racists,” I thought I’d check the facts myself. I opened a social network account and put in a few keywords: birth certificate, black, white, Rush, etc. Only 30 minutes passed and person after person “befriended” me. Many of their user names had the word, “patriot” in it. I resent them trying to redefine that word, but that’s another story. I tried another name as a liberal & not one person referred to Michael Steele as a “Magic Negro. Free Republic. This monotonous bloggish nightmare said this very recently :
“President Obama fulfills the three requirements to receive the approval of the black community: he is black; he is not currently having sex with a white woman; and he is liberal. And he receives the lifelong and unwavering loyalty of the black community for it.
By contrast, the black community hates another prominent half-black man. This half-black man happens to be a political independent who has sex with white women. His name is Tiger Woods.”
Freepers are known for their racism yet, I have not heard one Republican denounce these words. I haven’t seen one Republican stand against what they deny repeatedly. On Twitter I’ve read countless numbers of tweets of a racist nature. On someone’s profile saw I a picture of a man with a KKK hood on. Obviously, I reported it. If I were a Republican, I wouldn’t want a person with a hood on speaking for my party. I think hope it’s been taken down now. And then there’s Free Republic and Sonya Sotomayor:

When Al Gore is called a “fag” by Ann Coulter and not ONE Republican speaks against the queen of snark for her remarks, we have to wonder. She has ostracized the gay community, blacks, Hispanics, Democrats, Liberals, well, everyone that isn’t a Conservative. Ann Coulter has also said, “President Bill Clinton was “a very good rapist,” and “North Korea should be “nuked.” Rush Limbaugh has just said that we should “Pound Iran into submission.” I’d like to ask Republicans this…Didn’t you say you were worried about the deficit? Isn’t Rush your chosen leader by your party? Michael Steele had to apologize to Limbaugh! Apparently, Glenn Beck is seeking the truth as he sells gold to his frightened viewers & then lays claims to liberals having a “secret agenda.” His ads and reference to buying gold, is an agenda. He gets paid for it! If Rush or Beck were not racists, when I Google their names, I wouldn’t see link after link proving this claim. Remember Rush calling the President an “Halfrican American” while playing, “Barack The Magic Negro” repeatedly on his radio show? Remember the emailed card of a watermelon patch on the White House lawn sent by Republican Mayor Dean Grose? Remember Senator Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions III, calling Judge Sotomayor a racist?:
- Sessions called a white civil rights lawyer “a disgrace to his race” for litigating voting rights cases.
- Sessions called the NAACP and the ACLU “un-American” and “Communist-inspired.” Further said these groups had “forced civil rights down the throats of people.”
- During his confirmation hearing, called the Voting Rights Act of 1965 “a piece of intrusive legislation.”
- Sessions told colleagues that he “used to think [the Ku Klux Klan] were OK,” until he discovered some of them were “pot smokers,” showing a rather strange set of priorities.
- A black former assistant U.S. Attorney who worked with Sessions said Sessions had called him “boy,” and after hearing him chastise an assumably-white secretary, Sessions told him to “be careful what you say to white folks.”
The list goes on and the waters get murkier, but if you are a Republican and not a racist, then next time you hear something like this, say something, or you are part of the problem.
Thank you @uncajoe for all your help! You’re the BEST! ![]()
