Holy Shit, It's The End Of The World!

We're doomed!

This New Year’s day, I began wondering what this day would be like in a year. Then, what will it be like in 2 years?  The Mayan’s predicted the end of the world would occur in 2012.  Hell, there’s even a movie about it

Remember the Y2k scare? It was about the last two digits of the year and a lack of memory computers had back in the 70′s and 80′s which led to the the Y2k scare.  This lack of memory and doomsday prophecy byPeter de Jager in 1993 led to corporations and governments spending millions of dollars on correcting this problem of that time. Fast forward to 2011:

With the religious right trying to derail anything our new President does by calling him a socialist, fascist, Marxist, Communist, etc, he’s had a lot on his shoulders, but it’s going to get worse.  The religious right believe in the foretold Apocalypse. President Obama will be running for another election in 2012.  Campaigning begins even sooner.

These two trains are destined to meet with a head on collision to the likes of which mankind has yet to see in the right vs left wing political drama.  President Obama has been called a lot of things and the worst one to my knowledge is when he’s been called the “Antichrist”.  Not nice!  I haven’t heard that word referred to him more than a couple of times.  Wait a second….I feel a prophetic moment happening…yes, I see it now!  My prophecy: When the campaigning begins they will hint, imply and distort whatever they can dream of and the end of the world will be among these distortions.  Which brings me back to the religious right.  Can someone believe in something so much that it can actually be made to happen?  Can we will things to happen? If we don’t do something about Global Warming, isn’t that ignoring our world’s end?

Hysteria can lead to devastation.  The Y2k scare made many people believe chaos was on our doorsteps.  I think someone or some people will use the apocalyptic fears many people have against them.  Right now, there is devastation everywhere.  The protests, fires, riots, tsunamis, hunger and floods all over the world.  I won’t say what I do or do not believe about the end of the world but, I’ll place bets that this prophecy will be used against President Obama in the campaign ahead. I’d place bets on this, but who needs money if the world is going to end?
