Republicans are normally the first of the two party’s to want to go to war, but Pat Buchanan seems confused on this matter. He said, “And should war come, that would be the end of GOP dreams of adding three-dozen seats in the House and half a dozen in the Senate.”
Buchanan also said, “And cutting off a country’s oil or gas is a proven path to war”. He wants President Obama to not go to war, but also not sanction Iran. So, they want war but not if it helps President Obama politically.
War is only a good idea to Pat if this president does do not well in the public’s eyes afterward. War sells votes. War buys seats to the Senate. I get it now.
Rush Limbaugh has said that we should, “pound Iran into submission.”
Sarah Palin very recently made war like sounds regarding Iran at the Teabag convention. Since she doesn’t know the difference between Iran and Iraq, I think listening to her about something as intense as war to be an outrageously stupid mistake.
Well, I don’t want to go to war, especially with Iran. The protesters have suffered enough and this is their war. They’ve claimed it, fought it and are doing quite well without us.
Unfortunately, there very well could be a war:
Iran’s Islamic Revolution had a busy week preceding its 31st birthday yesterday. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced on Sunday that Iran would enrich uranium to 19.75% purity for Tehran’s research reactor. Yesterday he claimed to have done just that, making Iran “a nuclear state.”
Earlier, Tehran boasted of making advances in radar-evading drone aircraft. Its ambassador to Moscow said that Russia promised imminent delivery of S-300 air-defense systems that could preclude Israel from attacking Iran’s nuclear program. And to intimidate protesters, the regime disrupted communications networks, made widespread arrests, and executed dissidents. Antiregime demonstrations yesterday were met with force.
