Democrats For The New “People’s Republican Party”

I am a Democrat from New York and I believe in most of the polices of the Democratic Party, but as an American I know that it is important for there to be an intelligent discussion on all of the polices that affect our daily lives.

These discussions must be from opposite sides of the political spectrum if they are to be truly meaningful. Over the last few months we have seen Republicans criticize, condemn or simply say no to any policy that comes from President Obama and/or the Democratic Party.

They seem to have no room for moderate Republicans in their own party who truly have the nation and the American people’s best interest at heart. The voices of people like Rush, Cheney, Cantor, Boehner, Bachmann, and others on the extreme right should be called the Ethnocentric Republican Party.

Republicans believe the only way to run the government is the way they say.  They use words like “socialist” and “fascist.” Lately they even defend taking up arms against the government and secession. They have taken away one of Americas best tools in coming up with polices that could move us to a stronger and brighter future.

When I was much younger my mother would say that two heads are better then one and that is what we are now lacking. As Americans, we need two opposing voices at the table during policy talks.

I believe we must call for the Republicans that bring their desire to serve and their devotion to America and the American people to the table rather then their devotion to a political party to the table.

Voices like Colin Powell, Susan Collin, Olympia Snow, Charlie Crist, Megan McCain and others should have the strength to stand up for Americans against the Rush Limbaugh’s and Cheney’s that would rather see the country go into depression and turmoil than to try a different approach.

These are voices that we may not always agree with, but voices that we know in there own way are trying to serve the American people.

These are the people who care about waiters, waitresses, brick layers, electricians, carpenter,s farmers, the small store owner around the corner, the gay family next door and the soldier on the front line.

The People’s Republican Party would once again give America its two headed intellectual depth and guidance we deserve and truly need. Some would say that splitting the Republican Party would make it weaker but in truth it would become a party that would be more representative of a broader section of the American people and in time it would become so big it would engulf the old Republican Party whom at this time is a lost, bitter and divisive party.

The politics of the old Republican Party are tearing the nation apart internally like a not so obvious civil war and pitting Americans against Americans. If this keeps up, the terrorists will have done more damage to us then they did on 9/11.

Your enemy is weakest when it fights with itself. Unity is our strength and our intellect and moral compass is our sword and that which compels our allies to stand by our side. Now is the time for the People’s Republican Party to emerge and work with Democrats to lead this nation into the future and bring unity back to the country.

@ Imric: You are the one that needs to go to the socialist library. Our founding fathers would be appalled at what is happening to the Country.

Aside from that, I would suggest that you go pound some sand.

Thank you rebel for confirming the theme of this article. You are part of the problem. A whiny reactionary is a whiny reactionary; but I suppose you can’t help that you hate the Republic and democracy; that your reaction to an electoral defeat is to try and break the United States and runin the Great Experiment. The Founders would be ashamed of you. You should read about them sometime – I suggest a socialist institution like the library.

@ Anomaly: Who cares? It doesn’t matter who wrote it. A whiny liberal is a whiny liberal. You are all the same. If my new friend Robert cares to respond he knows where to find me.

“These are the people who care about waiters, waitresses, brick layers, electricians, carpenter,s farmers, the small store owner around the corner, the gay family next door and the soldier on the front line.”

It is exactly the policies of the Dumocrats that have hurt the people you mention above.

As a Dumocrat from New York, how do you feel about the highest taxes in the Country? Have you noticed how governemnt revenue goes down when taxes go up and businesses and wealthy individuals (including your hero Rush Limbaught) move out of New York?
