TYT: The Corruption Of Digg

Digg-gate has taken off and has shown how corrupt a social site can become. The self deemed patriots of the Digg Patriots group  that censored the Digg.com social news site, eradicated any, if not all left wing news or opinion from the upcoming lists.

This has become the focus of the Internet as their defenders explain why cheating is appropriate because the Digg site is “left leaning” therefore it’s justified to take the actions of those who have stifled the massive amounts of Digg users who do not agree with their views

.

This scandal has swept through the Internet, and now, The Young Turks discuss the patriots actions and who they hate and how they did it.

On a  side note, why are almost all of their accounts still active?  Defenders of the Patriots claim there is no evidence. The enormous amount of evidence obtained is staggering.  This will come out Patriots. Take my word at that.  Why is their ringleader’s account still active? Anyone?  Why is this account still active or this one or this one or any of them? Why is ChronicColonic’s? He wrote a guide on, “How To Bury Excellently.

By no longer having  an active bury feature, this will not solve this staggering problem. We were used. Digg Support was used as they reported users en mass daily making their lives hell. The entire Digg community suffered.  So, what’s the hangup? Get the active participants out!

I thank Barry for the article referral. (http://rightwingnews.com/2010/08/the-truth-about-digg-patriots/) It is interesting to hear a considered presentation from the other side here. For me, the author successfully makes the point that the efforts of the Digg Patriots were not different in kind than efforts of other, progressive-leaning bloggers–that is, there were liberal efforts to diminish the exposure of conservative articles. However, the activities of the Digg Patriots were different in extent: there were not systematic attempts by others to bury an article before it reached public view, there were not systematic attempts to bury a blogger/author regardless of content, even if you agreed with a particular article’s content, there were not systematic attempts to bait a Digg commenter into saying something that would be a violation of Terms of Service. To the extent that there were such efforts by anyone they were similarly reprehensible, indeed unpatriotic.

@ Anomaly: Olson’s article got over 10,000 diggs. Digg is obviously left-leaning with that kind of response. It is so typical of the left to whine when the right gets a voice. Did you even read the link I provided? It says that you and your cohorts are also guilty of gaming digg – for profit! Like I said, it’s the pot calling the kettle black.

Kudos to the Patriots for standing up to you leftist flakes. Kudos to the left for uncovering and dismantling the scheme. That was a very impressive piece of detective work.

@Shiva, Digg is a great resource for the news, tech, sports, etc. It is one of, if not the biggest social news site in the world. It’s a great place to pitch in, submit posts to support your candidate of choice, debate, etc. The majority votes up the submissions, but in this case, the minority was running the show, while at the same time, denying it. Yeah Shiva, fun place huh?

@hank On another post you said something to someone about supporting a heavily moderated site. I assume you mean this one.

As far as i can see this site is only moderated when people who cant put 2 sentences together coherently try to prove they haven’t reached 13 yet. Your bud Dan was a good example of that. You are far smarter and can get your point across without having to be kicked

Also, pls note that above on this page it says “Proud Progressive Blogger” Digg doesn’t say that. It supposedly is non denominational. When a site is “bent” one way or the other that happens. Go to the god glynnis Becks forums if he has one and walk in telling him how wrong he is and do it like Dan would. You would find a heavily moderated site in seconds.

These Digg kids are caught and openly reviled around the net.

@Barry, I read that yesterday and it is written by, “anonymous digger” which only makes the DPs look worse IMO. I take it you are one of the DPs? If so, this can all go away. Would you like to see the evidence? Read Ole Ole’s comment here. Also, regarding that post for Hank, that’s Punx photo at the top is it not?
