Charles Rangel confirms his refusal to resign today in a rambling, nonsensical speech. Rangel says, I can’t walk away because I am annoying and the action out there is that I am corrupt.” He also says he’s sorry for any embarrassment caused, which in itself is confusing even more.“Take your best shot” says Rangel at expulsion.
Daily Beast:
Some unpleasant words for President Obama and the Democrats:
“I’m not going away. I’m here,” Charlie Rangel said in a speech on the House floor on Tuesday. Rangel admitted that, “If I was you I might want me to go away too,” but insisted that he will stay put, despite the 13 ethics charges against him. He said that if the House really wants him gone, then the ethics panel should expedite its charges against him.
You can watch his rambling speech here where Rangel says, “. “I can’t walk away…because I am annoying and the action out there is that I am corrupt,” he said at one point. “Take your best shot” at expulsion,”
Charlie Rangel is 80 years old and it’s for him to retire. As President Obama says, he should leave with dignity. It appears it’s too late for that. This is a selfish move on his part and neither side will be begging him to stay. Goodbye Charlie.
On a side note. I know I’m a bad leftist for adding that cartoon. Bad Anomaly, bad!
